A Boy and his bike… (:

This morning I went for a quick ride on my bike, it’s not the best weather in Holland right now. Even though it’s still summer… So to be able to ride my bike as much as possible I try to ride it whenever the weather let’s me and whenever I don’t have to be at my job of course!

A few weeks ago we had a great sunny afternoon and a good friend of mine – Ronnie – send me a text message to shoot some pictures of my Suzuki. I asked him to do this a few times, ’cause he has a professional camera ;) .

To give you an idea of how the pictures turned out:

I really think they look awesome. Couldn’t have done a better job myself! If you also like the pictures and would like to have a shoot of your own bike or car or something like that, just click to Ronnie’s Hyves to get in contact with him. This way you’ll be able to get nice pictures yourself!

Comment if you like.

M.I.V.W. 2010 – What a day!

So, today me and a friend of mine planned to go to Valkenburg bij Leiden, to the old “Valkenburg Airport”. Not just without any reason.. no..  M.I.V.W. was held there today. Which stands for ‘Men In VolksWagen’.

The weather was great; the cars even better!

Although I left my own VW Polo at home (because we absolutelyneeded a little air conditioning), we got to see plenty of VW on the way from our hometown Tilburg to Valkenburg bij Leiden.

We got to see a lot of inspiring car-ideas. But also things you wouldn’t think of, seeing at a car-show. Like a real parrot, sitting on a car, or a half VW Golf as a trailer, or what about a face breaking out of the back of your car!

I could type you a story that would describe the whole day very detailed.. But since I’ve made approximately 180

photo’s on my iPhone (and my buddy Ron made at least twice as much on his professional camera) I suggest you check them out!

After I’m done with this post, I will update my Flickr page and you’ll be able to see most of the 182 photo’s shortly! :)

Comments are more then welcome of course!

Twitter linked to TV Programmes?

Twitter linked to TV Programmes? Yes! Well, not you’re actual TV screen, but the Dutch application ‘Uitzending gemist’ has linked Twitter to their app. This way, people can read about which programmes are being watched a lot and talked about.

Twitter – ‘Uitzending gemist’ Mashup
At , twitter messages (=tweets) will be linked to TV programmes. A new list will be made every 24 hours, of the programmes that are being talked about the most.

Discuss online
People nowadays are used to ‘tweeting’ while watching a programme. For instance if you’re watching the Dutch TV show ‘De wereld draait door’, you can tweet your opinion about the subjects in the programme, the guests and so on.
With this application, you will be able to see what basically anyone is tweeting about the programme and discuss with them, or read the discussion(s) later.

How does it work?
One example, is that Twitter will search on the title of a programme. Based on those found tweets, a top 20 list will be made of most discussed TV programmes at that moment.
In the application itself, tweets are linked to the TV programmes. This way you will be able to read the tweets while you’re watching the programme. If you’d click on a tweet, the application will show you the part of the TV programme, that has been discussed about.

This concept is also winner of the first price, at the first ‘NPO Mashup day’.

Twitter to Compare

This blog will actually help you save money, yes that’s right!

Save money?

You can save money by using Twitter. First of all, Twitter is completely free and easy to use.
“But how will it help me save money?”

Well, today’s use of the internet has gone beyond of anyone’s expectations. Like we all probobly know.
But, now that Twitter is here, it brings a very fast and good oportunity to copmare ‘products’.
In a fast and simple way you’ll be able to know if the product you are about to buy, is worth buying it.

For example

If you are at your local electrics store, you’re standing in front of a new Macbook Air. You would like to buy it. The employee will only tell you ‘Yes, I have got it myself, and it works great!’. Which you don’t want to hear, so you are now happy to be able to ‘tweet’ your question and  ask “Hey Guys, does anyone have good experience with Macbook Air?”. You will get responses in a matter of seconds (most of the time). And; there’s also the possibility for your friends to ‘RE-tweet’ your question, so you’ll be able to gain even more tips and arguments why you should or shouldn’t buy the product.

In this way you could actually save yourself a lot of money ánd trouble.

Different ‘products’

But, since you’re probobly not going to buy a new Macbook Air every week, it’s absolutely not only for buying a very expensive product. Not at all, you can also be at the supermarket and tweet “What should I eat tonight, that is healthy and very tasty but still relatively cheap” or “Where, should I eat tonight….” but also; “Is the new movie ‘Avatar’ worth to go see at the cinema?”.

So in conclusion:
Any kind of question that you would like to have multiple answers about, is possible to ask on your Twitter account.

Nothing beats Twitter

For real! Even the news nowadays is way too slow if you want to compete with social media; like Twitter.

New way of News

For instance, the news about the earthquake that destroyed Haïti was on Twitter long before the news reached any press office! You can still follow official news channels on Twitter which are reporting from Haïti, to your Twitter account at home.

Will these such things only happen when there’s a world-disaster or something that has massive impact to ‘all of us’. Like the death of Michael Jackson. Think about it, if you’d follow his sister Janet on Twitter, she could post ‘Michael has just been driven away to the hospital’. You will know as one of the first that MJ is passed away/sick or anything.

So, will this only get worse the coming years or will everybody stay true to their news channel at the same time, and the same place?

Social Media changes TV

I believe that TV will change drastically the coming years. Such as ‘interactive TV’, people can choose what they want to see, when they want to see it, how often they would like to see it ánd if you want a break, you just push the ‘pause’ button. This is all because of Twitter and other social media, not only because of that of course, it’s also just technology that keeps getting better. People will already know it before TV shows can broadcast it. Maybe someday soon, TV will have GOOD shows again because of this!

Good work Twitter! (;
